Reuters photographer Alkis Konstantinidis wins Pulitzer Prize
Greek photographer Alkis Konstantinidis is among a group of Reuters photographers to receive a Pulitzer Prize for their photos of migrants from Central and South Americans crossing the US border.
It was the second Pulitzer Prize for the 35-year-old who was first honored for his coverage of the Greek refugee crisis in 2016 along with Alexandros Avramidis and the late Yannis Behrakis.
“It is amazing to be for the second time part of the team of photographers who took the Pulitzer Prize,” he told Kathimerini.
“Last time, we won it with Yannis Behrakis at the helm. This year, with another team. But Yannis was our teacher. He was and remains a point of reference with his work at a global level.”
