Yorgos Lanthimos to reunite with Colin Farrell in new film, says Variety
Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is reuniting with Irish film star Colin Farrell in a new movie, film industry daily Variety reported. Last year, Farrell starred in Lanthimos's "The Lobster" which earned the Cannes Jury Prize, among other awards.
The new project, “The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” is reportedly inspired by a Euripides tragedy and follows the relationship of a gifted surgeon and teenage boy who tries to incorporate him into his broken family, Variety noted.
The director is expected to work on the film with longtime co-writer Efthymis Filipou. The two earned the Best Screenplay award at the Venice Film Festival in 2013 for “Alps.”
