Niarchos Foundation withdraws 3-million euro donation to National Museum of Contemporary Art

A three million euro Stavros Niarchos Foundation donation to the National Museum of Contemporary Art has been withdrawn because the institution had failed to meet the agreed terms, Kathimerini understands.

An agreement between the two parties was signed 18 months ago. No further details were immediately available.

Sources indicated the Niarchos Foundation would agree to examine a new request if the museum were to submit one.

The funding was seen as crucial with regard to the completion of the extensive renovation of the former Fix brewery now housing the museum.
