National Gallery announces 2025 program
An exhibition of etchings and watercolors by Francisco Goya, a retrospective marking the centenary of the birth of painter Panagiotis Tetsis and an exhibition of Russian avant-garde works collected by Georgios Kostakis will be among the highlights of the 2025 program at the National Gallery in Athens, its director has announced.
Speaking at a press conference, Syrago Tsiara also said that a new presentation of the gallery’s permanent collection on the third floor will be inaugurated in the second half of the new year.
In addition, the director announced that the Arp Museum in Germany, which houses and manages the work of Hans Arp und Sophie Taeuber-Arp, has donated 21 plaster casts by Arp to the gallery.
The gift, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni commented, confirms the international stature of the gallery.
