Xylokastro to play host to four-day Aristonautes festival

The 2024 Aristonautes Festival, a celebration of culture, theatre, dance and music, will take place in the seaside town of Xylokastro in Corinthia from June 20-23.

Three Greek tenors – Dimitris Paksoglou, Christos Delizonas and Andreas Karaoulis – will kick off the four-day event at Agios Vlasios Square with an opera performance. On the last day, synthesizer ace Pan Pan and Years of Youth will appear together in nearby Deverni.

There will be a performance exploring this year’s theme “The Freedom of Dance,” and a round table and open discussion focusing on the Greek dance scene.

Two multi-award-winning animated films by up-and-coming French creators – Michel Ocelot’s “The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess” and Simon Rouby’s Adama, will be screened at the Elektra open-air cinema.

Festivalgoers will get the chance to travel back in time to the ancient Acropolis through an interactive virtual reality experience offered by Chronoscope VR.

The festival’s educational program offers exhibitions, tours and hands-on activities with professionals and experts instructing different workshops, including a poetry workshop and an inclusive dance workshop.

While entry to all events is free of charge, booking is required for participation in the workshops.
