‘One day we will return to the stars’
An immersive audiovisual production with philosophical implications was shown Monday on the occasion of the inauguration of the upgraded image and sound systems of the New Digital Planetarium of the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, which now has a fourth-generation projection system with a total resolution of 7.5K, multiplying the brightness and quality of the image.
The show, “We are Astrodust,” consisted of 10 chapters with titles such as “The Adventure of Knowledge” and “Cosmic Odyssey,” dealing with the birth of existence, the mysteries of life and the universe.
“We really are all stardust – and one day, we will return to the stars,” Dionysis Simopoulos is heard saying at one point in the performance.
The late director of the Eugenides Foundation edited the script of the show to the musical score of composer Vangelis Papathanasiou, who also passed away last May.
