Event celebrating small bookshops begins
Small Bookshop Week kicked off in Greece on Monday, with the country’s independent booksellers hosting a series of interesting events to acquaint readers with their important work and to share the joy of reading with the uninitiated.
Running through Saturday, this year’s installment is being celebrated by more than 100 bookstores across the country and includes over 150 events, including presentations and talks by popular writers and illustrators.
Apart from underscoring the passion and knowledge that independent booksellers bring to the business, and the way they bring together people who share the passion of reading, the event also seeks to showcase the work of a new generation of writers and illustrators, as well as reaching out to children.
