Hagia Sophia ruling a ‘provocation,’ says foreign minister
A decision by a Turkish court to annul a 1934 cabinet decision turning Hagia Sophia into a museum constitutes a “provocation” to global cultural heritage and UNESCO, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said on Friday.
Dendias said he informed his counterparts from the European People's Party (EPP) of the court ruling during a teleconference held ahead of an EU Foreign Affairs Council on Monday.
