REPORT
Clear skies are forecast across the country, though with patches of fog in the morning in the Ionian and on the mainland. Winds will be blowing at light speeds in most parts and northerly at 3 to 5 Beaufort in the Aegean. Temperatures will range from a low of 5C (41F) to a high of 20C (68F) in the north and a minimum of 6C (43F) to a maximum of 23C (73F) elsewhere around the country.

ATHENS: Clear skies are forecast for the capital. Winds will blow in from a northerly direction at light to moderate speeds of 3 to 4 Beaufort and temperatures will range from a low of 9C (48F) to a high of 22C (72F).

THESSALONIKI: Sunny skies are expected over the greater area of the northern port city, with light breezes coming in from a northerly direction and temperatures ranging from a minimum of 8C (46F) to a maximum of 19C (66F).

OUTLOOK: Similar conditions are expected to prevail over the next couple of days across Greece, with plenty of sunshine. There will however be patches of fog overnight and early in the morning, especially in the Ionian Sea and on the mainland, limiting visibility. Winds will be northerly and light in most parts of the country, reaching speeds of 4 to 6 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea. Temperatures will remain relatively high for the time of year.

Unfortunately, there appear to be some in the government who refuse to accept the sorry state of the country's finances and are about to lead Greece down a very slippery slope indeed.

Simple medicine for the plague
In Greece, the optimists are those who believe the country's finances cannot get worse. As we saw in the weeks before and after the October 4 election, the unpleasant surprises in our economic indicators seem to have no end.
