The politics of granting advertising
For many years, there's been a growing scandal in the way that advertisements for state companies and utilities are handed to media outlets. Without any real transparency or clear rules, the different ministries' advertising budgets become extremely useful tools for ambitious politicians who are interested solely in building their public image.

Greece's public order impasse stems from the confluence of two very serious problems - the inadequate training of police officers and the public's very ambivalent attitude toward youthful violence. Each problem alone would be dangerous; the two together are disastrous.
