A giant banner set up outside the French Embassy in Athens yesterday served to express the solidarity of left-wingers in Greece with French citizens planning to vote against the European Constitution in Sunday’s referendum. French opinion polls yesterday gave leads of 55 percent to the country’s ‘no’ camp.
