Employment and Social Security Minister Fani Palli-Petralia is greeted by the president of the Athens Journalists’ Union (ESIEA), Panos Sobolos, yesterday for a discussion of government proposals on social security reform. Sobolos said afterward the government had not changed its plan for merging the journalists’ pension fund with those of other professionals and imposing a 10 percent levy on contributions. As a result, the ESIEA board would decide on fresh strike action today, he added.
