A triumph for Greece’s future

The fact that Greece is being taken to the European Court of Justice in a case centering on the heavily polluted Asopos River marks a victory for the uncompromising journalism that has been typical of Kathimerini and Skai Radio station over the past four years, which has targeted the wrongdoing of business interests that do not hesitate to harm the country’s natural habitat for a few euros.

Most importantly, it marks a victory for those who believe that Greece has a future over those who appear to believe that this is not a European country; a victory over those who feel free to destroy the most precious heritage of this land; and a victory over those who allow them to do so.

The decision is a victory for all citizens who believe they have a duty to protect the environment. The struggle goes on. We owe it to our children.
