Justice must be served at all costs

The state has to have a presence in every part of the country; this is vital. But it is more important that this presence is permanent. In this respect, the Greek police’s investigations at the village of Zoniana in Crete bore fruit.

The police righted a long-term shortcoming of the state justice system, resolving matters that had been left in the dark for years and Greek citizens have some hope that justice will be meted out.

The police investigations must be seen through all the way, particularly after the media lights have dimmed. We must not feel once more that the Greek state is turning a blind eye to crime. Justice must be administered everywhere and at all times, otherwise it is not justice at all.
